At First Christian we believe strongly in the verse, "Without vision, people perish..." and even have added a collalary, "With vision, people flourish!" Below is our great Commission, great Commandment and our Great Purpose, plus our Great Slogan. Besides this we take the Scriptures as our Guide, Jesus as our Lord and Matthew 25 as our focus for Mission.
Our Great Commission
"Therefore go and make disciples in all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you; and be sure of this - that I am with you always, even to the end of the world." (Matthew 28:19-20)
Our Great Commandment
"Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only God, and you must love Him with all your heart and soul and mind and strength. Then you must love others as much as yourself. No other commandments are greater than these." (Mark 12:29-31)
Our Great Purpose
"The purpose of this congregation is to help all find salvation in Jesus Christ and to help them develop an active commitment to the church; to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ so they may increasingly know and do His will; and work for the unity of all Christians encouraging them to engage in the common task of building the Kingdom of God."
